The First Facility of its Kind in Asia

The 84,000 square-foot Bridge facility in Beijing is the first Asian preclinical CRO with western-level attention to details worthy of any state-of-the-art facility. It includes one of the largest and most sophisticated animal vivariums in China. This facility was designed from the ground up to be both AAALAC multi-species accredited and US-level GLP compliant. Non-primate animals are sourced from certified US-franchised animal breeders to assure Bridge clients of genetic homogeneity to animal models used in the US and Europe. When studies dictate that samples from primates or other animals must be transported to or from the China facility, Bridge staff in China have considerable international shipping and receiving expertise, and are well-versed in the CITES permitting process for primates.

 

The Beijing facility includes a purpose-built laboratory with full barrier animal rooms, formulation preparation areas and necropsy rooms, with archival storage offered in a separate area. Animal rooms are state-of-the-art with 100% HEPA-filtered air and control for heat, ventilation, air conditioning and humidity; room temperature, humidity, pressure and fresh air exchange are computer-monitored 24 hours a day. In addition, animals are provided with certified diets and filtered water. All cages are stainless steel of sizes that meet or exceed the recommended guidelines of the NIH Guide to the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.

 

Bridge in China has a US-trained VP of Quality Assurance, and all employees are extensively trained and certified in a variety of programs involving US-level quality assurance. The highly-motivated staff possesses excellent English speaking and writing skills; and an English-only policy is adhered to in all SOPs, data, protocols and reports. As in the US, Bridge employs sophisticated technologies to guarantee the physical security of the facility in China — as well as advanced encryption and other data security methods to protect the intellectual property of its clients.
